Nina Krishel joined Shaw Yoder Antwih Schmelzer & Lange in 2026 as Director of Public Affairs and Communications. She brings a decade of experience in public affairs, strategic communications, crisis communications, and media relations to the role.

Prior to joining SYASL, Nina served as Vice President of Communications for the California Manufacturers & Technology Association (CMTA), where she led the association’s communications strategy, media relations, and member engagement efforts.

Previously, Nina spent nearly six years in the California State Senate, where she developed expertise in legislative affairs, strategic communications, and public policy while serving in both legislative and communications roles, including as Communications Director for the Senate Minority Leader. She began her Capitol career as a Senate Fellow. In addition, she founded and operated a boutique public affairs consulting business, providing strategic communications and public affairs services to public and private sector clients.

Originally from Southern California, Nina earned a Master of Public Administration from the University of Southern California and a Bachelor of Arts in English from California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo.
