Dylan Hoffman joined the SYASL team in 2025 after serving three years as TechNet’s Executive Director for California and the Southwest.

In his prior role, Dylan oversaw TechNet’s advocacy and political activities in California, Arizona, Hawaii, Nevada, New Mexico, and Utah. In California, he advocated on behalf of TechNet’s member companies in the legislature and in front of state agencies, provided detailed policy analysis on data privacy, artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, and autonomous vehicles issues, developed and led diverse coalitions, drafted technical regulatory comments, managed membership relations, and organized events.

Prior to joining TechNet, Dylan served as Director of California Government Affairs at Internet Association, where he managed IA’s advocacy and political activities in California. He previously served as Legislative Director for State Assemblymember Jesse Gabriel where he developed and managed the Assemblymember’s legislative priorities and advised him on a broad range of policy issues, including privacy, technology, access to justice, health, and judiciary issues. Dylan also previously served as an Assembly Fellow and Legislative Aide to former Assembly Majority Leader Ian Calderon.

Born and raised in New Mexico, Dylan graduated from the University of New Mexico with a B.A. in Political Science, a B.A. in Philosophy and the UCLA School of Law with a J.D. He lives in Sacramento with his wife, daughter, and pets.
